Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily and economically make a garbage incinerated products harmless under good safety conditions by blending products obtd. by incineration in an aq. binder formed of powder consisting essentially of blast furnace slag in the presence of magnesium oxide, sulfate and carbonate soluble with a prescribed range of pH or a mixture thereof.
CONSTITUTION: In a method for the stabilization and solidification of the products obtd. by the garbage incineration, for example, dross, fly ash and smoke purifying residue, these products are blended into the aq. binder formed essentially of powder consisting essentially of the blast furnace slag in the presence of magnesium oxide, sulfate and carbonate soluble in a pH range of 8 to 13, preferably, 9.5 to 12.5 or a mixture thereof. Then, substances obtd. in such a manner has a good mechanical resistance and essentially contains the residue confined into a fine, continuous and uniform matrix which is capable of holding soluble pollutants such as chlorine and heavy metal.
