Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for starting the polymerization of α-olefin while preventing the formation of sheet-formed polymer and other troubles at the initial stage of polymerization in the production of a polyolefin in vapor phase using a catalyst composed of a solid catalyst component containing titanium and/or vanadium and an organoaluminum compound.
CONSTITUTION: A seed polymer is filled in a reactor, the electrostatic potential between the polyolefin particle and the earth at the position possible to form a sheet-formed polymer in the reactor is adjusted to zero or a positive value, specific amounts of a solid catalyst component, an organoaluminum compound and an olefin are supplied to the reactor and the reaction is started.
