To provide a system for storing and reading voice utilizing a communication line, which system is capable of identification based on voice and restoring information through multiplexing in an emergency.
The system for storing and reading voice utilizing a communication line includes: a plurality of line user interfaces 11a to 11n each connected thereto via the communication line 10 and having a line interface function, an exchange function and a device control function, to accept requests from terminals 15aa to 15 nn to register, store and read voice; voice feature extracting parts (voice authentication devices 12a to 12b) connected to the respective interfaces; voice storage devices 13a to 13n for storing the features of voice and voice data input from the terminals; voice storage condition management devices 14a to 14n for recording the storage condition of the data in a form including user ID numbers, time of storage, and the kind of stored data; and voice feature comparison parts (voice authentication devices 12a to 12n) for identifying users by comparing the feature of the voice with the voice data.
