PURPOSE: To attain the addition or correction of a word for a present data base without operating any compile processing.

CONSTITUTION: This is a method for storing words in the data base of a computer system 1 including a storage device which stores a data base including model words in which vocabulary forms are defined by the system of upper symbols, and changing forms are defined by the system of lower symbols as a first path including a state connected by an arc relating the upper symbols with the lower symbols, processor, keyboard 9 and mouse 11. This includes a step for receiving a signal from the keyboard 9 or the mouse 11 for specifying new words as new symbols to be added to the data base, a processor using step for identifying more than one arcs of the first path having symbols matched with the new symbols of the new words, and a processor using step for adding states and arcs to the data base in order to display the new words as a new path including identification arcs.
