To provide a straightening method of distortion for performing a work for straightening the distortion of a chassis for a plasma television quickly, surely and efficiently.
In the distortion straightening method of the chassis having a constitution by which a rectangular recessed part is formed by protruding the inner part outward by drawing while leaving the circumferential end part of a rectangular panel having a prescribed size and a required number of reinforcing ribs, parts, a pin for for fixing tools, etc. are mounted by caulking-fixing or the like, by this distortion straightening method of the plasma television, the amount of distortion in individual intermediate position of the four circumferential sides or the intermediate and center positions are measured in the rectangular recessed part of the chassis and they are taken as measured values. Next, the difference between the measured value and the preset reference value is determined and it is taken as a correction value and, next, the amount of distortion is straightened within a prescribed value by deforming the chassis plastically by imparting pressing force equivalent to the magnitude of each correction value to all of the measured places.
