Title:
METHOD OF SUBJECTING ANIMAL HAIR FIBER TO SHRINK-RESISTANT TREATMENT BY MEANS OF HYDROPHOBIC TREATMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013136867
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method of subjecting animal hair fiber to the shrink resistant treatment, which solves the problems of the conventional method such as the decrease of repellency or thermal insulation, the "distortion or sagging" of sweaters in a water washing process, the yellow discoloration due to light and heat, and the decrease of the strength and the elongation of fiber, which are caused by subjecting the animal hair fiber to chemical treatment with such as chlorine-based oxidant and oxygen-based oxidant or physical treatment of such as plasma treatment or corona discharge treatment, either treatment rendering the permanent hydrophobicity of fiber surface that the fiber should originally have to hydrophilicity.

A method of processing animal hair fiber surface comprises the steps of: immersing an animal hair fabric fiber into diamine aqueous solution; squeezing and drying it in the air to remove the moisture on the animal hair fiber; dissolving dibasic acid dichloride into a silicone-based solvent to prepare solution; and immersing the dried animal hair fiber into the solution and squeezing it to coat the surface of the animal hair fiber with a polymer.
