Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the enbrittlement due to the heating by the welding of the outer surface by specifying the composition and PCM of the weld metal on the inner and outer sides in executing the submerged arc welding of one pass on each surface on the seam in manufacturing a UOE steel tube with high toughness for low temperature use.
CONSTITUTION: The weld metal on the inner surface side has the composition containing, by weight, ≤0.08% C, ≤0.5% Si, 0.8-1.8% Mn, ≤0.2% Mo, 0.005-0.03% Ti, 0.0005-0.003% B, 0.0080% N, 0.035% O, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and PCM indicated by the formula I is 0.110-0.170%. The weld metal on the outer surface side has the composition containing, by weight, ≤0.10% C, ≤0.5% Si, 0.8-1.8% Mn, 0.1 to ≤0.4% Mo, 0.005-0.05% Ti, 0.0005-0.0060% B, ≤0.0080% N, ≤0.035% O, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and PCM indicated by the formula I is 0.14-0.20%.
