PURPOSE: To prevent retention of molten metal at gap between a nozzle and inner face of belts and to obtain a metal strip without any defect by giving thrust to horizontal direction to molten metal at meniscus part with electromag netic giving means arranged at back faces of the belts.
CONSTITUTION: At both sides of pouring basin part 8 storing the molten metal, the electromagnetic induction devices attaching cores 11 to electromagnetic coils 10 are arranged as facing and current is supplied from a three phase AC source. The electromagnetic coils 10 are energized and the flow to the horizontal direction is developed to the molten metal at the meniscus part 9 and by this flow, the molten metal surface at the pouring basin 8 always becomes flowing state to prevent the retention of the molten metal at the nar row gap between the nozzle 2 and the belts 4. Therefore, even if the molten metal is cooled with the outside air, development of thin film at the meniscus part 9 is prevented.
