To provide a method for suppressing an undesired radio wave produced by facilities incidental to a surrounding road, wherein communication and sensing are performed by using a radio wave, in the communication and the sensing, by effectively attenuating a reflected wave from the radio wave incident at a prescribed angle of incidence, through the use of a simple constitution.
A radio-wave attenuating body is mounted on the facilities incidental to the road, or a main part of the facilities incidental to the road is formed of the radio-wave attenuating body. Thus, in terms of the radio wave incident on the facilities to the road, a phase difference, equivalent to an odd multiple of half a wavelength, occurs between the radio wave reflected from a first reflecting surface and the radio wave reflected from a second reflecting surface, at the incidence of the radio wave at the angle of the incidence θ with respect to the second reflecting surface; and the radio-wave attenuating body attenuates the radio wave after the two reflected waves overlap each other by virtue of the phase difference, so as to suppress the undesired radio wave.
