Abstract:
A process is provided herein for accelerating the surface curing of a room temperature vulcanizable organopolysiloxane composition. The process comprises contacting the organopolysiloxane composition with a gaseous medium containing moisture and carbon dioxide, in which the carbon dioxide is present in an amount of at least 0.1% by volume. The room temperature vulcanizable compositions may be used in automotive assembly plants for preparing formed-in-place gaskets.
