Abstract:

To provide a method for surface treatment of a wheel for a vehicle capable of improving the corrosion resistance of a wheel for a vehicle after painting by removing a corrosion resistance-inhibiting substance stuck to the decorative surface of the wheel while the wheel is formed in a predetermined wheel shape.

A shot blasting step 12 is performed after the wheel is formed in the predetermined wheel shape, a laser emission treatment 14 in which a YAG laser is emitted onto a wheel decorative surface 4 is performed for removing the material components of the shot particles and oxide film stuck to the wheel decorative surface 4. Alternatively, a laser emission treatment 17 in which the YAG laser is emitted to the wheel decorative surface 4 is performed after the wheel is formed in the predetermined wheel shape for removing the oxide film stuck to the wheel decorative surface 4 before painting. Consequently, the corrosion resistance of the wheel decorative surface 4 can be improved.
