Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a delay of transfer due to address conversion by a gateway that interconnects two networks each adopting a different address system.
SOLUTION: The format of packets according to this system specifies that packet headers 801-803 have address information of an address system in a network of a transfer source and reserve information areas 804-808 have address information sets 805, 806 of an address system of a network of a transfer destination. A gateway equipment conducts address conversion by replacing the address information sets 801, 802 of the packet headers with the address information sets 805, 806 of the reserve information areas of passing packets.
