Abstract:

To provide a method and a system for deciding communication mode in a communication system.

The system and the method determines if a first mobile terminal and a second mobile terminal are located in the predetermined peer-to-peer (P2P) communication-available area; estimates a first expected performance, when the communication mode between the fist mobile terminal and the second mobile terminal is a cellular communication mode; estimates a second expected performance, when the communication mode between the first mobile terminal and the second mobile terminal is the P2P communication mode as the first mobile terminal and the second mobile terminal are located within the predetermined area; and selects either one of the cellular communication mode or the P2P communication mode, as the communication mode between the first mobile terminal and the second mobile terminal, by comparing the first expected performance and the second expected performance.
