To provide an article managing method and system using an electromagnetic induction tag which can highly reliably and efficiently manage an article by installing the electromagnetic induction tag in the magnetic body or the metallic base material of the article, storing it in a metallic container fitted to the article and managing the article by using the electromagnetic induction tag.
The electromagnetic induction tag 1a is installed in a space 7 provided in the metallic base material 5 of a gear part A. Peculiar article management information such as history data for the respective articles such as the design, development, manufacture, installation and incidental service of the gear part A and lot management data are stored in service of the gear part A and lot management data are stored in the memory 4b of the semiconductor IC chip 4 of the electromagnetic induction tag 1a. A reader/writer terminal machine B reads peculiar information and it is displayed on a display 11.
