Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely conduct changeover of a redundancy system of transmission lines.
SOLUTION: On the occurrence of a line interruption fault on OC 12 transmission lines from a multiplexer A to a multiplexer F, the multiplexer F detects that a transmission line is interrupted for a reception signal from the OC-12 transmission lines, and transfers automatic protection switching(APS) bytes from the multiplexer A to a multiplexer G. In this case, the APS bytes are inserted to an unspecified area of an OC-192 transmission overhead determined in advance for passing-transfer of the APS bytes. The multiplexer G inserts the received passing-transfer APS bytes to a specified position of the APS bytes on the OC-12 transmission overhead and sends resulting data to the multiplexer D. Thus, a redundancy changeover between the multiplexer A and D is realized in this way.
