To enable the color management in the method and system for printing management at a newspaper printing plant to be properly performed.
The system is provided with plural kinds of newspaper rotary presses. The image information of each space edited as multivalue image data is acquired together with the relative information of the space. The machine plates for each space are prepared based on the image information. At performing the printing task with the above each newspaper rotary press using the prepared machine plates, the newspaper rotary presses and printing materials used for each space are selected based on the acquired multivalue image data and the relative information. In corresponding to the kinds of the selected newspaper rotary presses and the printing materials, the compensation processing for color reproduction is performed based on the color management information prepared in advance. This multivalue image data is converted to a binary image data, then the machine plates are prepared.
