Abstract:

To select an object for a medium by grouping annotations on the object.

In a technique for selecting at least a part of the object of an electronic medium, annotations 320, 330, 340 and 350 are written into the object, the annotations 320, 330, 340 and 350 thereon are grouped, and either the object or the annotations 320, 330, 340 and 350 or both of them are selected on the basis of the grouping of the annotations 320, 330, 340 and 350 on the object. Also, this technique provides a system for selecting a part of the object of the medium. The system is equipped with an annotation grouping circuit for writing the annotations 320, 330, 340 and 350 on the object and grouping the annotations 320, 330, 340 and 350 on the object and an object selection circuit for selecting either the object or the annotations on the basis of the grouping of the annotations on the object.
