Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the route selecting system, which can remarkably shorten the time for searching the optimal route.
CONSTITUTION: In a route selecting data memory device 4, the data of road net and the route selecting data, which includes the recorded route number data corresponding to each road, are stored. A route selecting device 6 searches the optimal route near the departing point (real position) obtained by a position detecting device 2, and also searches the optimal route near the destination, which is inputted from a point input device 5. The route selecting device 6 compares the route number of a road passing in each search range with the reference of the route selecting data. As a result of comparison, in the case where each route having the same route number exists in both the search ranges, the route selecting device 6 selects a road having this route number as the route for connecting both the search ranges.
