To provide a method and a system for skinning a farm product such as vegetables by ice blast, enabling automating a skinning step requiring much labor among the process for the farm product and also enabling washing it in combination with the step.
The skinning system for the farm product such as vegetables using an ice blast technique comprises a supercooled water forming section 10, an ice storage tank 17 for storing in chilled water fine ice grains 20a as ice slurry 20b formed by freeing the thus formed supercooled water from a supercooled condition, an ice grain mixing section 19 for obtaining homogeneous ice slurry 20c adjusted in the ice content of the thus stored ice slurry 20b, and a jetting section 24 functioning to automatically skin an object 30 by jetting the homogeneous ice slurry 20c by air pressure against the object 30 via a jet nozzle 33.
