Abstract:

To provide methods and systems for tracking use of an ultrasound probe (252).

This method includes a process (304) to store tracking information within an ultrasound probe and a process (302) to access the tracking information stored within the ultrasound probe. In another embodiment, an ultrasound system is provided. The ultrasound system includes an ultrasound scanner and an ultrasound probe removably connectable to the ultrasound scanner, with the ultrasound probe having a memory for storing tracking information.
