PURPOSE: To tack a coil without stopping a production line and generating weld scraps by sticking the innermost coiled part of a coil and a metallic strip coiled on it with adhesive.

CONSTITUTION: First, support frames 7, 12, 14 are set in the middle and at the end in the plate width direction of the metallic strip. Then, the rear end of the metallic strip is detected and tracked by a metallic strip rear end detector 22, etc., to spray cleaning fluid with a cleaning fluid spray header 8 to a part X at the rear end of the upper surface of the metallic strip 1. Continuously, the cleaning fluid is wiped off by a wiper 10 and cleaning fluid is sprayed with a cleaning fluid spray header 18 to a part Y distant πD from the rear end of the lower surface of the metallic strip 1 and wiped off by a wiper 20, then, adhesive is stuck by an adhesive spray gun 21 to the part Y. When the metallic strip 1 under this state is taken up by the reel 3 of a take-up machine, the strip 1 is taken up as the part Y is put on the part X of the innermost coiled part of the coil, the part X and the part Y are stuck with adhesive.
