PURPOSE: To guarantee the maintenance of the dimensions of a body and to produce the wear-resistant and pore-free surface of the body by coating the body with a sheath composed of a meltable active substance and a binder and performing a heat treatment under specified conditions.
CONSTITUTION: After the body is covered with the sheath composed of the meltable active substance and the binder, when treating this body at a temperature exceeding 500°C, the treatment is performed as follows. Namely, this heat treatment is performed under vacuum or in an inert atmosphere and after the sheath is transformed into an at least partially porous cover layer with outer crust, the temperature is raised so that it does not exceed the softening point of this body and further the active substance can be heated cover its fusing point. Moreover, the temperature of the coating is kept until the molten active substance contained in the coating is at least partially evaporated and a surface band is created in the body by diffusion in that cast to form a layer tight between the surface substance of this body and this active substance and next, the cover layer is cooled and removed from the body.
