To provide an end termination method capable of reliably locking rope ends, and having high termination efficiency by a simple work without using a cushioning material such as an adhesive irrespective of the quality of a rope material, and applicable even to a highly elastic rope having an increased elongation at break, such as a rubber rope or resin rope.

The rope is inserted into a rope-insertion drilled hole by using a tubular device having the rope-insertion drilled hole having a uniform inner diameter from an inlet to a back end and having at least one large diameter portion other than the inlet part. The tubular device is swaged to protrude the large diameter portion toward the side of the rope-insertion drilled hole and pressing the rope to reduce the rope diameter.
