Title:
METHOD FOR THERMALLY SPRAYING POLYMER MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000096203
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To apply a poly(ether-ether ketone)(PEEK) composite material to a metallic substrate by the high velocity oxyfuel(HVOF) process.

A preparation is applied to a metallic substrate with a metallic binder layer. The metallic binder layer is arc-sprayed on the metallic substrate, and then a powdery PEEK composite material is heated and pushed forward toward the substrate and binder layer by the HVOF technique to uniformly coat the substrate. The PEEK coating is annealed in succession to the HVOF process to provide the substrate coated with the highly durably PEEK.
