PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding method and a device which can form the leading ends of a plurality of fiber materials flocked on a brush base into a tapered shape which gradually becomes sharper as becoming closer to the leading end side, at a high precision and quickly.
SOLUTION: By this grinding method for the hair tip of a brush, the leading ends of a plurality of fiber materials being flocked on a brush base, are formed into a tapered shape which gradually becomes sharper as becoming closer to the leading end side. In the case, a pair of cylindrical wire brushes 1, 2 of which the rotating directions are different from each other, are made one set, a plurality of the sets of the wire brushes 1, 2 are arranged at specified locations in the moving direction of a toothbrush 6 in such a manner that the contact height between the fiber material of the toothbrush 6 and the wire brushes 1, 2 may gradually become higher, in order, and the leading ends of the fiber material are brought into contact with the rotating wire brushes 1, 2, and the toothbrush 6 is moved in the longitudinal direction of the wire brushes 1, 2 while being flatly rotated on the wire brushes 1, 2. At the same time, the set of the wire brushes 1, 2 is rocked in the direction which is orthogonal to the moving direction of the toothbrush 6, and the leading ends of the fiber material are ground.
