To provide a method to preserve an iodinated germicide-impregnated component having such a feature that after the above component is filled into a vessel made of a polyester resin, from the surface layer to the inner layer, it is sealed by the sheet laminated by one sort of film selected out of polypropylene, polyester, polyamide, and/or cellophane film, and an aluminum film and a polyester film in this order.

According to the preservation method related to the invention, it can not only supply patients with an iodinated germicide-impregnated component, which is effective to make a cold germicide of contact lenses in a way that is easy to use, but provide them with a method that permits stable preservation of the effective iodine concentration in the component for a longer period.
