Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable tracking of the weld zone of billets in continuous rolling equipment without using special marking, sensor or the like.
SOLUTION: In a tracking method of the weld zone of the billet 31 which is fed into a rolling stand train after executing continuously flying welding, the rear end of the billet 31 before flying welding is detected with a billet detector 34 and, on the upstream side of the rolling stand train, the transfer distances of the billet before welding and after welding are detected with a pulse generator 33. Based on the transfer distance of the billet 31, the delivery amount of the billet 31 after detecting the rear end of the billet to the rolling stand train is determined and, based on the delivery amount, the weld zone of the billet 31 is tracked.
