To provide a method for transferring a file through a kind of KVM switch between a plurality of computer hosts.

The method generally includes the steps of: (a) coupling a first computer host connected with a first monitor, a second computer host connected with a second monitor, a keyboard and a cursor controller to a KVM switch; (b) initializing a cursor controlled by the cursor controller (controlled cursor) on the first monitor; and (c) moving a file displayed on the screen of the first monitor to the screen of the second monitor by the cursor controlled by the cursor controller for transferring the file from the first computer host to the second computer host through the KVM switch.
