PURPOSE: To insert a contact into a recess smoothly and precisely by attracting a rivet type contact to an attracting jig, at the same time, clamping with a finger, and thereby correcting the attracting place.

CONSTITUTION: When a rivet type contact is transported to and inserted in a recess in a basis, the head 4c of rivet type clad contact 4 which is sent while inserted in a groove 5a of a parts feeder 5 and consists of Ag-CdO 12%/Cu in specified dimensions is vacuum attracted by an attracting jig 6 having an attraction mouth 6a and heaved, and at the same time, the leg 4d is clamped by a pinch type finger 10 for correction of the attracting place, and the rivet type contact 4 is aligned with the attracting jig 6. After the leg 4d of this rivet type contact 4 is inserted to the recess 1a in the basis 1, pinching pieces 11, 11' of the pinch type finger 10 are opened for releasing the leg 4d, and vacuum attraction of the head 4c by the jig 6 is disengaged to restitute the jig 6 and finger 10. The contact 4 inserted into the recess 1a is pressurized by a tapered concave die, not illustrated, and put in pressure contact with the basis 1, and thus a mold insert type electric contact 3 is accomplished.
