Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating an alkaline fly ash by which the addition amount of an agent is reduced and a harmful heavy metal is made harmless simply and positively and besides, in a highly stable manner and at a low cost.
SOLUTION: Alkaline fly ash discharged from a refuse incinerator and the like is heated in a temperature zone of 550-800°C under an air atmosphere or a high oxygen atmosphere. Thus the heavy metal contained in the alkaline fly ash is transformed into a substance insoluble in water and an agent to fix the heavy metal is added and kneaded.
