To provide a method of treating an asbestos-containing waste material which can make an asbestos-containing waste material sufficiently harmless in a short time and make a waste liquor after treatment available as a raw material for cement in effectively recycling the waste liquor.

The asbestos-containing waste material is treated with a mineral acid solution, and the asbestos contained in the waste material made harmless by adding a chemical compound solution containing fluorine. Further, a sediment is produced by neutralizing the obtained treatment waste liquor with alkali, and the obtained sediment is reused as a raw material for cement.
