To make cleaning treatment using iron safer and more practical.
The method of treating a chemically contaminated material comprises cleaning soil and/or ground water contaminated by chemical substances in situ with iron while blowing air toward the surface of an area to be cleaned, causing a gas to diffuse from at least one well, sucking a gas from at least one gas suction well or injecting a gas from at least one gas injection well.
