Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decolorize a deeply colored waste water with extreme efficiency and to make it possible to contribute largely to water quality conservation of rivers and lakes by a method wherein a mold of trichoderma genus having decolorizing ability is planted and cultured in a waste water contg. hardly decomposed coloring substance to decolorize the waste water.

CONSTITUTION: A method for treating a colored waste water is to decolorize the waste water by a method wherein a mold of trichoderma genus having decolorizing ability is planted and cultured in a waste water contg. hardly decomposed coloring substance. More practically, a mold belonging to trichoderma genus separated from soil is planted and cultured in a medium contg. a coloring ingredient of soy sauce to remove rapidly the coloring ingredient from the medium and to decolorize the medium. As the mycelia becomes colored with decolorizing during culturing, it is estimated that majority thereof is based on adsorption but a part is decomposed by the action of the strain.
