Abstract:

To provide a method for treating a decomposition recovery product of a polyurethane resin, capable of excellently reusing the decomposition recov ery product of a polyurethane resin as it is as a raw material even without removing amines contained in the decomposition recovery product by a simple treatment and to obtain a polyol prepared by treating by the treatment method.

An oxide compound is added to the decomposition recovery product of a polyurethane resin obtained by decomposing the polyurethane resin. Consequently, an oxide group which the oxide compound contains is selectivity reacted with an amino group of the amines contained in the decomposition recovery product and converted into a hydroxyl group (alkanolamine) to decrease the activity of the amines. The treatment can be simply and industrially carried out and the obtained polyol can be excellently reused as a raw material for a polyurethane resin.
