Abstract:
To provide a method for efficiently treating discharged water when recovering valuable substances is difficult, particularly when discharged water from the manufacturing process of mechanical pulp or recycled paper flows in.
The discharged water by paper-making is treated by adding an amphoteric water-soluble polymer consisting of 5 to 95 mol% of two kinds selected from specified cationic monomers, 5 to 50 mol% of anionic monomers and 0 to 90 mol% of nonionic monomers. Or the discharged water is subjected to coagulation treatment by using both of the above amphoteric water-soluble polymer and an anionic polymer.
