Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating exhaust gas of ash melting furnace by which the inside of an ash melting furnace can be held surely at a negative pressure against the atmospheric pressure even when a back pressure is generated from a heat recovering means side and, in addition, the interval between shutdowns caused by the clogging, etc., of the heat recovering means can be prolonged.
SOLUTION: In this method, the exhaust gas discharged from the ash melting furnace 1 is sucked by means of an induced draft fan and, after the heat of the exhaust gas is recovered through the heat recovering means 32, the gas is discharged from a stack. The pressure (b) in the furnace 1 is measured directly or indirectly. The flow rate of the exhaust gas is controlled between the flow rate when a by-pass valve 35 through which the exhaust gas is made to take a long way around the heat recovering means 32 is fully opened, and another flow rate when the valve 35 is completely closed so that the inside of the furnace 1 may be maintained at the negative pressure (a) against the atmospheric pressure based on the measured pressure (b).
