Abstract:
To provide a method for treating fluorine-containing waste water, by which the concentration of fluorine can be reduced to the environmental standard or lower by removing fluorine from the waste water containing low- concentration chlorine.
This method for treating fluorine-containing waste water comprises a step to bring the fluorine-containing waste water as the water to be treated into contact with calcium carbonate as a processing agent to adsorb fluorine contained in the water to be treated on the processing agent so that the concentration of the fluorine in the water to be treated is lowered. Calcium carbonate having 20 m2/g or larger specific surface area is used as the processing agent.
