To provide a method for obtaining a solid component which has less water content, low chlorine concentration, and contains lead and zinc from th heavy metal-containing powder containing calcium, lead, zinc, copper and chlorine.
The method for treating heavy metal-containing powder comprises: a step (A) where heavy metal-containing powder is water-washed at the pH of 9 to 12, and is thereafter subjected to solid-liquid separation, so as to obtain a solid component; a step (B) where the solid component in the step (A) is mixed with sulfuric acid, so as to obtain slurry at the pH of 2 to 4, and thereafter, the slurry is subjected to solid-liquid separation, so as to obtain a solid component containing Ca and Pb and a liquid component containing Zn and Cu; a step (C) where the solid component in the step (B) and an alkali aqueous solution are mixed, so as to obtain slurry at the pH of 13.5, and thereafter, the slurry is subjected to solid-liquid separation, so as to obtain a solid content containing Ca and a liquid component containing Pb; a step (D) sulfuric acid is added to the liquid component in the step (C), so as to regulate its pH to 9 to 12, thus slurry containing Pb (solid content) is obtained; a step (E) where metal zinc is immersed into the liquid component in the step (B), so as to obtain a liquid comprising metal copper and Zn; and a step (F) where the liquid component in the step (E) is gradually added to the slurry in the step (D) while always retaining its pH to 9, so as to obtain a mixed liquid at the pH of 9 to 12, and thereafter, the mixed liquid is subjected to solid-liquid separation, so as to obtain a solid component containing Pb and Zn.
