Abstract:

To efficiently and surely remove scales formed on the inner surface of piping in a short time remotely by using pulse laser beams.

The inner surface of metallic piping 1 to be treated is irradiated with the pulse laser beams, and the scales are peeled from the inner surface of piping 1 by applying a thermal change to the scales formed on the inner surface of piping 1. A basic wave of an Nd.YAG laser beam, a multiplier wave not lower than a double-wave, or a copper steam laser beam is applied as the pulse laser beam. An irradiating head 21 is mounted on a self-traveling robot 7 which self-travels in the inside of piping 1. The self-traveling robot 7 is provided with a creeping device 24 capable of traveling and stopping inside the piping.
