To provide a method for treating residue at the furnace bottom of a gasification melting furnace in which the residue generated in a fluidized bed type gasification furnace can be safely recovered as resources by simplified facilities.
In a gasification melting furnace comprising a fluidized bed type furnace 1 in the preceding stage and a melting furnace 2 in the succeeding stage, fluid medium is screened and recovered from the residue at the bottom of the furnace 1, and sent to the furnace 1 to be reused, a metal content in the residue is separately recovered, and a nonmetal is used after contamination on the surface is rubbed off, or after the originally existing powder content is sieved out from powder produced at the time of crushing of the nonmetal. Alternatively, a metal content is separately recovered, and nonmetal is crushed and the powder is sent to a fluidized bed gasification furnace, and is sent further to a melting furnace together with fly ash by the current of the gasification furnace to be made into molten slag in the melting furnace.
