Abstract:

To obtain fine and highly strong slag by accelerating the reducing reaction of such oxides as an iron oxide and P2O5 in steelmaking slag and by suppressing the residue of a carbon source for reduction in the slag based on the suitable regulation of the additional amount of the carbon source for reduction in a method for treating the steelmaking slag where the steelmaking slag is treated by melting reforming reduction.

In the method for treating steelmaking slag where the steelmaking slag is treated by the melting reforming reduction by adding an SiO2-containing reforming material and the carbon source for reduction to the steelmaking slag while heating the steelmaking slag housed in a reaction vessel in which molten iron is reserved by a heating means, the carbon source for reduction is added so that the content of carbon is 5 pts.mass or more and 25 pts.mass or less based on 100 pts.mass of the steelmaking slag through the treatment by the melting reforming reduction and the SiO2-containing reforming material is added so that the basicity of the steelmaking slag after the treatment by the melting reforming reduction is 0.7 or more.
