To provide a method for treating waste wood by which the waste wood as waste materials is treated in a blast furnace at high efficiency.
The method for treating the waste wood in the blast furnace is employed by which auxiliary fuel composed of the waste wood, plastics and pulverized coal and hot blast are blown into the blast furnace from a tuyere part in the blast furnace, and the method is characterized in that a granulated material containing the wood and the plastics is produced by mixing the waste wood and the plastics, and melting and solidifying at least a part of the plastics, and then, a mixture is formed by mixing the above granulated material and the pulverized coal so that at least a part of the pulverized coal sticks on the surface of the granulated material, the above mixture is charged into the hot blast and blown into the blast furnace from the tuyere. The method is also employed by which the mixing of the granulated material and the pulverized coal, is performed in a blowing lance for auxiliary fuel or piping continuously connected with the blowing lance for auxiliary fuel.
