To provide a method for treating zinc slime as a method of recycling, as a zinc refining raw material, a chlorine-containing resin and zinc slime (mixture of zinc hydroxide and the other mixture) produced in a non-ferrous refining step, the method being capable of recovering zinc as a zinc-containing solution and controlling reaction temperature to several hundred degrees °C (for example, 300°C) or lower.
The method for treating zinc slime comprises: a step of heating and kneading zinc slime produced in a non-ferrous refining step and a chlorine-containing resin at 70°C or higher to 130°C or lower to obtain a kneaded product; a step of subjecting the obtained kneaded product to heating treatment at above 130°C to 250°C or lower, generating an acidic gas, and causing removal to obtain reaction residue; a step of adding moisture to the reaction residue to form into a pulp and stirring the pulp; and a step of subjecting the obtained pulp to solid-liquid separation to recover a zinc-containing solution.
