Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for turning a pipe end part of a metal pipe and a method for manufacturing the metal pipe in which cutting defect is not generated even when the feeding amount of a cutting tool to the metal pipe is large, and the life of a cutting tip can be prolonged.SOLUTION: A method for turning a pipe end part of a metal pipe according to an embodiment includes a preparation process, a setting process, and a turning process. In the preparation process, a metal pipe 1 and a cutting tool 4 equipped with a cutting tip 5 having an apex angle α of 60° or less are prepared. In the setting process, the front cutting blade angle β of the cutting tip 5 is set at 5-90°. In the turning process, the metal pipe 1 is rotated around a pipe axis X, and the feeding amount of the cutting tool 4 to the metal pipe 1 is set at 10 mm/rev or more to turn the pipe end part of the metal pipe 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
