To improve the efficiency when a bulk material is unloaded by a grab bucket type unloader.
A distance between a first sheave 20 and a second sheave 23 is set so that a distance between a first hoisting rope 19 and a second hoisting rope 21, which are hanged respectively around the first sheave 20 and the second sheave 23 of a trolley 7 and the tips of which are fixed to a grab bucket 53, becomes shorter gradually as it goes downward. When the traverse motion of the trolley 7 is started, the winding-up operation of the hoisting rope existing on the front side of the traverse direction is synchronized with the letting-out operation of the hoisting rope existing on the back side of the traverse direction and the letting-out operation of the hoisting rope existing on the back side of the traverse direction is delayed, so that the grab bucket 53 is suspended to be inclined to the back side of the trolley 7. When the traverse motion of the trolley is stopped, the winding-up operation of the hoisting rope existing on the front side of the traverse direction is stopped and the hoisting rope existing on the back side of the traverse direction is let out, so that the grab bucket 53 is shaken out forward. The bulk material-seized grab bucket 53 is shaken out forward and simultaneously is opened to throw the bulk material in a hopper 10.
