To provide a method for unmanned operation of receiving dirty clothes from customers and returning washed clothes to customers which is convenient for customers and is efficient for a cleaning shop.

A member customer puts dirty clothes A into a through-in port at a customer-side space 12 which is separated from a laundry-side space 14 by a partition wall 10 and takes out cleaned clothes (a) from a take-out port at the customer-side space. The laundry stores cleaned clothes in a clothes storing machine 22 at the laundry-side space. On return of the cleaned clothes to a customer, the customer is judged qualified to take out the clothes after it is confirmed that he or she is a member and then the customer's clothes are selected based on the information which relates the membership number of the customer to the location of the customer's clothes in the clothes storing machine and the customer's clothes are delivered to the take-out port.
