Abstract:

To provide a method for updating the functions of electronic equipment which updates the function of electronic equipment without degrading the memory use efficiency of a portable terminal.

A portable telephone set 1 accesses a management server 4 for the portable telephone set 1 to download a download and transfer software component to transfer to a digital camera 2 a software component for the digital camera 2 and a downloaded software component for the digital camera 2. When the download and transfer software component is used by the portable telephone set 1, the software component for the digital camera 2 is downloaded to the portable telephone set 1 from a management server 5 for the digital camera 2 and then transferred to the digital camera 2. The software is updated in such a manner that the digital camera 2 uses the transferred software component for the digital camera 2.
