Abstract:
To upgrade purified heavy residual oil to petrochemicals.SOLUTION: The present invention is a method of upgrading a purified heavy residual oil to petrochemicals comprising: (a) a step for separating hydrocarbon raw materials in the distillation unit to a top stream and a bottom stream, (b) a step for feeding the bottom stream to a hydrogenolysis reaction zone, (c) a step for separating the reaction product generated by the reaction zone in the (b) process into a stream rich in monocyclic aromatic compound and a stream rich in polycyclic aromatic compound, (d) a step for feeding the stream rich in monocyclic aromatic compound to a gasoline hydrocracking (GHC) unit, and (e) a step for feeding the stream rich in polycyclic aromatic compound to a ring-opening reaction zone.SELECTED DRAWING: None
