To provide an air conditioner in which a high-performance deodorizing filter having a function of removing malodor components is disposed, and which is excellent in the maintainability of the filter.
In the air conditioner, the deodorizing filter 11 constituted of at least inorganic fibers, a dielectric material, an inorganic oxide supporting a noble metal, and an adsorbent is disposed upstream of an indoor equipment heat exchanger. The deodorizing filter comprises the inorganic fibers of 40 to 60 wt.%, the dielectric material of 10 to 20 wt.%, the noble-metal-supporting inorganic oxide of 1 to 5 wt.%, the adsorbent of 20 to 40 wt.%, and an inorganic coupler of 1 to 5 wt.%, with the adsorbent being a zeolite with a specific surface ratio of 100 to 500 m2/g and the dielectric material having a dielectric constant of 500 or more and an average particle diameter of 1 μm or smaller. The deodorizing filter is disconnected from within indoor equipment and heated to a temp. of 200 to 300°C by application of microwaves to reproduce and purify odors adsorbed by the deodorizing filter.
