Abstract:

PURPOSE: To use a grafted cellulose in a fibrous form such as paper, nonwoven fabric, flock, yarn and woven fabric having quaternary ammonium functions to remove nitrates and humic substances in natural water or industrial sewage.

CONSTITUTION: For example, the grafted cellulose is prepared by radical grafting method of quaternary ammonium functions, especially quaternary diethyl-amino-ethyl methacrylate, with the aid of unsatd. monomers. The capacity of the cellulose is 0.2 meq/g or larger.
